Jason Thompson Named Hopkins County Market President

This announcement is made on behalf of the Board of Directors and James Law, President and CEO of Alliance Bank. Jason Thompson has been named Market President for Hopkins County.

“Jason Thompson has been a vital part of Alliance Bank for almost three decades,” said James Law, President and CEO of Alliance Bank. “He gained a solid foundation in banking early in his career. Over the years, he built expertise across all lending areas, making him exceptionally qualified to lead the Hopkins County Market”

This promotion coincides with the retirement of Keith Shurtleff, who has served as Market President since 2021. “Keith has been instrumental to the Bank’s success, and we are grateful for his 29 years of service. He and Jason worked closely to ensure a smooth transition for this leadership role,” added Law.

“I’ve known Jason throughout his career at Alliance Bank, and he always puts the customer first. His leadership and dedication to serving customers align perfectly with Alliance Bank’s values,” continued James Law, President and CEO of Alliance Bank.

A Sulphur Springs native, Jason earned a double major in Agricultural Business and Economics Finance from East Texas State University while working at Alliance Bank as a teller. He is the son of Gary and Sue Thompson. He and his wife, Holly, have three children—Story Forsman (married to Drew), Jase Thompson (married to Bailey), and Hattie Thompson—and a grandson, Reed Forsman.

Jason serves on the board of the Northeast Texas Children's Museum and is a member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and the Sulphur Springs Lions Club, among other organizations. He is also a member of Grace Methodist Church. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and time with his family.
